As an ex-forces professional I received intensive leadership training and successfully completed a number of team-building courses.  Over time I have modified these skills to suit everyday work with juniors, peers and superiors.

I am equally at home working as a team member, taking responsibility for a specific area of work, or assuming overall responsibility for a project.  Recent contracts have provided opportunities to work in all of the previously mentioned roles.

Years of experience has taught me that the "fast fix" method tends to create a web of difficult to manage installations.  I prefer to use a slower and more deliberate approach which lends itself to a structured solution that can be sustained well into the future.

I appreciate the importance of good documentation, particularly in relation to the transient nature of a contracted workforce.
